Volunteers Needed for 2009 Catonsville Parade
The Catonsville Celebrations Committee is an all volunteer organization. We always need volunteers who can work on the celebration all year long as a member of the Celebrations Committee and volunteers who only want to work for one day. Here are the volunteer opportunities:
ALL YEAR LONG...
Committe Members - We are always looking for new committee members. The committee meets the third Tuesday of each month at 7:30 pm at the knights of Columbus (basement side near library) located at 1010 Frederick Road. During the month of June, the committee meets every Tuesday. For more information, contact ... sweeneysmith@comcast.net
On July 3rd...
Sandwich Makers - The day before the parade, the committee makes over 1,000 lunches for the bands that are participating in the parade. If you can help, come to the Knights of Columbus, 1010 Frederick Road at 10 am on July 3rd. After sandwich making, a group of volunteers will be setting up the cardboard trash cans and can use some help.
ON JULY 4TH...
Banner Carriers - We need children and adults to carry sponsorship banners in the parade. This job has perks - free t-shirt, student service learning hours, all the water you can drink, the admiration of your community and a bird's eye view of the parade line up on Montrose Avenue. Great for middle school and high school kids who need student service learning hours. To sign up or for more information, call Debbie Gamber (Head Graphics) at 410-744-0415 or by e-mail at headgraphics@erols.com
Parade Marshal - During the parade, we need volunteers to help on the parade route during the parade. Marshals make sure the parade route is clear at all times and that the parade is flowing smoothly.
