Every July 4th, residents begin pouring into the streets of Catonsville and head up to Frederick Road for the parade. At 7 p.m., the streets are filled again with thousands of people heading to the fireworks at the high school. No one gives much thought to the logistics or funding of the events, they just know that they will be treated to a fabulous celebration every year.
Since 1947, a dedicated group of volunteers plan for every detail of this annual tradition and they love doing it. One member, Tom Connor, has been a member for over 50 years! Support the work of the Catonsville 4th of July Committee by making a donation and keep this tradition alive for future generations.
